I’m not sure about the three quarter rear or interior, otherwise it could be sweet.

But for us it’s just more of the ‘soak the haves’ servicing which I’m thoroughly over now.......fuel economy is fairly irrelevant at their levels.

I wonder if that's the 8 speed ZF that everyone seems to be using

Seeing one in the JS carpark on Sunday- can they stay stationary, with front wheels flat out?

Theresa May MP / PM or some of her minions (Dr Fox MP) will probably have had talks of assisting them to manufacture or assemble in the UK

or at least be making sure the tariff will be low enough for importing parts or vehicles.

I've just replaced one of our cars with a '17 plate xc60 and absolutely love it.

It's not the 'new' model as such but only had 6,000 miles on the clock. Fortunate that the new all singing all dancing models are out and this had a fair few £££'s knocked off the price tag.

Geely own Volvo, Lotus and London Taxi Cabs already.   The will be operating Inward Processing Relief schemes to suspend the customs duty and Import VAT on parts used in the production of UK made cars, there is even End Use reduced duties for parts used in car production.

For a car not exported these parts become dutiable so the UK consumer will then pay the taxes but the exporter car will not.  Scheme needs a bit of setting up and running ie experts, ICT systems and of course customs officers to oversee but all do-able.

The one needs to work out if the resultant car can qualify as originating so it could qualify for any trade deal the UK eventually does, complex it is.

Good lord...

These things look like hideous piles of pretentious tosh inside!!!!

I really do hate modern cars....

...especially Chinese or Korean.  It took the Japanese 20 or more years selling in Europe to iron out their alien Asian styling, and Hyundai appear to be taking a lot longer than that.

To be honest though Volvo have to style for their biggest markets - which are probably the USA and China - so the look is not always going to appeal to us european types.

Only back to 2011 and Dr Martin Winterkorn of VW is in a Hyundai at a motor show asking the minions why they can not get the Golf to have the steering adjustment as smooth as in the i30.

& VW bought into Suzuki to get their knowledge or was it Fiat / Jeep/ GM's.

The VW USA CEO Stefan Jacoby was a VW man until he was off in 2010 to head Volvo for Geely, before huffing off to GM Global.

I still wonder if he is a whistle blower or just still a suspect.

As to the Dr, where is he now? Still enjoying his pay off!  No responsibility for the Defeat Device Sign Off.

Hyundai are in the Czech Republic building and selling vehicles from a big modern factory.

Odd, since there is so much German styling and engineering in them.

Ireally do not like the fashion these days for the 'squashed' look at the rear of cars, looks like an elephant has sat on it, must be poor visibility

In the UK the new XC 40 was Wharcar's car of the year.

Seemed an odd one to me as it is a smallish SUV and in the UK retails at £34K, good God.

The Pug 5008 was large SUV at 10k less.

Cannot figure this.

Now a Polestar........

The Polestar V60 is just a wonderful drive, and there are used bargains about.

(There are 2 2015 cars on Autotrader currently, you get cheaper than these ones with these asking prices.)

Seeing & hearing a couple or 3 unmarked Police Scotland ones out 'training' is a sight to behold.

Volvo should capitalise on its World Touring Car Championship victory, the wins at the Nurburgring was great.

I have a picture on an old phone of a unmarked police Skoda petrol VRS, mk1, pulling over a Lambo, made me laugh.
