I’ve been offered a set of 18in Triton alloys off a new Kodiaq and was thinking of sticking them on my Superb Sportline (when it arrives) with winter tyres

 

I’m told they will fit, but also they are 7in wide rather than 8in wide on Superb alloys. 

 

If I get them I’m thinking of sticking 215/50/18 on them which have the same circum. as the 235/40/19’s 

 

Any thoughts on this?

Since the wheels are a different size to any of the factory fit Superb wheels and the tyres you propose to fit are also a non-standard size you will need to confirm with your insurers that they will still provide you with cover. Cheap wheels resulting in no insurance would not be a bargain.

Providing the tyre sizes match the sizes on the Fuel Filler cap they will be suitable for the car. Skoda have provided you, to which tyre sizes are approved for that car. 

Thanks for advise, I don’t have the car yet so I’m not sure what’s in the petrol filler cap but I’m proposing a tyre size that isn’t standard, I won’t mess with insurance etc so that’s a non option. 

 

 

Once the Car arrives on the reverse side of the filler cap are tyres sizes " Type Approved " for you car, use that as a guide.

Just checked and they are ET43 and the Superb 18in wheels are ET44. I presume that makes no difference?

 

ive looked again and can fit the 235/45/18 tyres to these wheels as they already come with 235 wide tyres for the Kodiaq. Any thoughts on this?

One wheel/tyre size combination for Superbs (e.g. SE L Executive and Lauren & Klement) is 235/45 R18 18" x 8J. So I'd have said this wheel and tyre you suggest must be okay.
