Alcantara seats (Sportline)

Featured Replies

Having sat in a Sportline in the local dealer I really like the seats.

Playing with the configurator I'm trying to get them on an SEL. Is it possible? At the start it asks if you want leather or vented seat (which require other options adding to the cost)

Is there a way to delete leather in preference of alcantara? I'm sure it used to be possible.

You definitely won't get the Sportline seats as they are exclusive to that model.  Alcantara used to be an option on the SEL but it seems to have been pulled.

You won't get that shape of seats in anything but a Octavia vRS or Superb Sportline model.  Apparently the seats are better suited to taller drivers as the seat backs on the standard seats don't come up very high, ultimately not offering as much support in the shoulders.

As above, Alcantara used to be standard on the SEL but it appears that leather is now standard fit, based on the UK configurator.

The sportline seats are very nice IME.

Yap, can't be done. The configurator in Finland had the option to change to sportline seats and I confirmed it with the dealer that this is possible but when I ordered my L&K with the sportline interior they rang me up and told me the factory would not do this. So I ended up taking the beige L&K interior instead because I really don't want to order the sportline as I get a lot better equipment in the L&K..

Thanks chaps.

My budget means I'd have to get a manual Sportline when I'd rather have the DSG.

Hmm, the Sportline was really very nice though.

They are nice seats, but if I had to choose, I'd go for the DSG, as well.

Only based on test drives so far, but the seats were one of the big reasons we went for the Sportline over other models. The missus has a very poorly back and I am quite tall and they seemed to work for both of us. We did need to add heating as an extra though, not standard on the Sportline. The Superb we've ordered only comes as DSG so we didn't have that quandry :-)

That said, the standard leather seats in the missus's Yeti SE L are also pretty comfy and are heated as standard.

So what do you think guys about the ventilated leather seats as I ordered mine with them. Any experiences?

I was not a fan of the Alcantara on the Octy Mk2 VRS so went for the full leather option when I bought my facelift one. The shape of the seat aside I would not have picked the Alcantara option on my new SE L Executive even if it had been available.

Alcantara is now a zero cost option on SEL trim but only in beige, and not Sportline style.
