Colour combinations - opinions urgently needed!

Opinions please, does a beige leather interior work with cappuccino metallic paintwork? Or does a beige interior need a dark paint?

Any other opinions on beige vs black leather welcome.

I have that combination and think it looks good. Looking at it objectively probably the best colour for a beige interior is a dark blue or deep red but it works fine with the cappuchino IMO. The beige makes the interior feel very open and light. I had the brown before and although that was nice it was a bit drab compared.

I dont like black leather; it doesn't wear well in my experience and always  looks too 'reppy' to me. Each to his own ;)

Are yours standard leather or the perforated ventilated leather seats? Reason I ask is there seems to be some confusion on some of the configurators and quote sites as to whether beige is an option on the SEL executive trim.

Edit: I just noticed you have an L&K so I guess thats ventilated.....

Nope. Standard seats, ventilated was (still is?) a cost option when I ordered in Mar 17. I wouldn't pay extra for vented seats as I never used them on cars I had before the S3.

Normally the best rule of thumb is to match contrasting colour shades i.e. dark interior with lighter exterior colour and vice versa.  I've seen cappuccino and beige and it does look well though.  Since I started getting beige interior I've always had darker exterior colours - rosso brunello, then magnetic brown and now lava (petrol) blue).  If you think something works however then go for it.  The only combination I would caution against is white on beige as it looks odd and might impact resale.  On the beige leather, I've never had issues with them.  Cleans much better than you would expect and doesn't show marks like black does.  Black will be really hot in summer.  Personally, I would never go to back a dark interior again but it is a personal choice at the end of the day.  I went for ventilated (perforated) seats this time.  They look even better than the normal beige leather but are an expensive option and I'm not overly happy with how cold they get.  Its a nice-to-have rather than a must-have option, although in my case it was probably more of a must-have as my wife insisted on them :) .

I have beige leather in a Jungle Green L&K 280, and imho it looks the dog's whatsits. The cabin is brighter than the dark leather option, and the comment about hot cabins is spot on. My old BMW's were black, and were hot in summer. I agree with opinion that beige looks good with darker colour paint. My old S2 4x4 was a dark maroon with same beige interior. Both cars had/have many admiring comments on the interior (but we know that's a lot to do with the Skoda surprise factor...this is a SKODA???).  The interior cleans easily, so the beige shouldn't put you off for that reason. Beige with white or silver might look a bit pallid. I'd say avoid the light/light and dark/dark combinations. Rgds Phil

Visited dealer this morning and sales manager was of great help.

Currently (apparently changes from time to time)........

beige interior on SEL is alcantara for zero cost option. Beige leather option can only be taken with ventilated seats and electric passenger seat at circa £1100 extra

Viewed a pre delivery SEL with the beige Alcantara, it was okish but immediately noticed some black marks on glovebox and some door panels from maybe a glance from a shoe. To be frank, the cream plastic door panels and glovebox was already putting me off. Manager showed me his L&K with black ventilated seats, which he said are just as cold as standard leather and he personally never ever used the ventilation or sees a need to. I got the impression the perforated surfaces were already looking a little tired (as in stretched)

Opinion seemed to be that beige alcantara was probably incompatible with kids and dogs and I can see that being true. However cold/hot and slippiness is less of an issue.

To cap it off, went back to the showroom car and the black leather felt/looked much better/classier/safer. Waiting on SWMBO's opinion tomorrow.

Why did velour fall out fashion?

I had beige leather on my previous SII Greenline with silver bodywork. I have black alcantara on my current SII CR140 with black magic exterior. I've just gone for black leather for my new quartz grey SIII Superb L+K.

It's all personal choice IMHO. If you are worried about marking beige leather - don't. Mine didn't pick up a mark in 3 years. The comment about marking on glove compartment etc is valid, but just as true of black. Both clean equally easily in my experience. I don't have kids though...

Enjoy - whatever you choose.

I had beige cloth in a Cappuccino 2012 Passat (so it must be OK)  and have had it in a Black Octavia, Dark blue 04 Honda Accord and 2000 Passat (pale green), and the current Petrol Blue Mk111.  I think black interiors are dark forbidding places and prefer the light and airy feel of the beige interior.  We did have a black alcantara 2015 Octavia for 2 years as we couldn't wait for an order so took a stock lease car - was glad to switch back to the lighter interior.

The beige doesn't get any dirtier than the black and black can be the worst colour for showing marks.  When I had company cars they were four year leases, I now have 2 year personal leases.  Only the Honda looked a mess after 4 years and 128k miles but the leather was giving up (it was the only one with leather).  The '00 Passat did 96k, the Octavia 105k and the '12 Passat 75k (3 years old when I resigned) so the beige will stand use.

I don't think the S111 suits the cappuccino,  but that is my opinion.  We did see one in the metal before we made the decision (the options were that or business grey), we test drove a petrol blue and the dealer had all 3 side by side.
