Went with the suggestions from @flybynite got the wheel fitted when I was getting the tyre put on just to make sure it definitely cleared the brakes!

Got the kit from superskoda as was ordering some other bits

Easy way to check: jack your car up and try one of the wheels in the spare well to see how/if it fits.
