Emergency help required please

Featured Replies

Needed to go to work, but car is not opening..I think it's battery is dead again.. Yesterday I used tyre inflator while engine was off, may be it caused the battery to be flat. I even drove the car for around 7miles after using the inflator without any problem...But this morning it is really playing...

back two doors got open, not boot and front two doors. I used key to manually open the driver door..but cant open the front passenger door to open the boot.

COULD SOMEONE HELP ME OPENING THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR PLEASE.

charge the battery? disconnect it first when fully charged reconnect it.

I can not open the bonnet because front passenger door is not opening.

I've not done this but have read on this forum that the bonnet release handle can be twisted enough to release the catch.

Needs a fair degree of force I believe.

you can do this by popping the handle out a little as above. Some have a locking ring mine does not.

sounds like you might have a faulty alternator(charging) or battery anyway? using the inflator should not affect the battery to the point where doors wont open?

It happened last time as well..I left a cheap dashcam on charge on the boot and following morning battery was dead...I was lucky that all the door got open at that time. I took the car to halfords and they checked the battery and confirmed me that battery is in good health..

Yesterday when I used inflator engine was turned off, so that may caused battery to be flat.

If you can get in the driver side, can’t you bump start the car?

All sorted...thank you everybody.

A dashcam draws very little power (100-200mA), so should take weeks to drain a standing car battery. Either your battery is bad, or something else was draining it.

how? i mean what did you do? did you find out what's causing it?

I regularly use a AA tyre pump powered from teh cigarate lighter to check & topup my tyres with the engine off & have never had any problems.

When swapping my winter tyres I also listen to the radio for an hour or so & then use the pump afterwards.

I've never seen any problems.

Agree the european sided bonnet release is a pain in the UK, bit of bad design work there...
