Wiper Blades

With a foreign trip in the near future, I bit the bullet and popped in to my local dealer to stock up on spare wipers.

This is what £65.18 gets you.

RH # 567955426 £25.58

LH # 567955425 £19.69

Rear # 565955425 £19.91

A bit worrying to see they have “expiry dates” like biscuits :)

£65!? Ouch.

Shame for that money they couldn't even find a proper box for them!

Thanks for sharing the part numbers

Yes Bignij

It seems to smear the top of the windscreen in an arc, is the wiper sufficiently sprung to remain in contact?

There's no discernible difference, using the mk1 limp wristometer, on the tension and the connection from either side.

I am not a fan of the flat blade wipers when the blade needs replacing I will try the older design with a cantilever arm. Are there replacements that are not the blade type?

By cantilever design do you mean these?

Their design might allow more lateral flexibility over a curved surface but in most other aspects they are inferior compared with the latest blade design.

Yes that is what I meant. OK S1101 back to the drawing board!

Thanks

Anyone found a fix for this? The passenger side always leaves an arc of dirt when using the wiper in the top corner of the wipe. The thing that annoyed me the most was how things stick to the windscreen and the blades do sod all to remove them. I relented and bought a load of rain-x the other day and sprayed tonnes of it on there, seems to have improved a bit but there are still the odd smears that just don't budge with the wipers. It's been doing that ever since i got it brand new from Skoda.

Anyone got issues with rear wiper?

The wiper rubber was not correctly fitted when i picked up. So it only covered like 50%. I pushed it on. Now it jumps (makes the noise) when it is not veeeery rainy. Even when i put on the window washer fluid.

... Car picked up 4 days ago.

Probably wax or similar on screen.

Well, picked up the car 4 days ago. Then it is dealer or skoda added wax. Not impressive that i need to remove wax for wipers to work...

Are there better wipers on the market now. Aeroblade?

Has anyone considered silicon blades? I was looking at the PIAA blades.

Today I collected some consumables from my local Euro Car Parts emporium.

ECP had a weekend discount code that deducted 37% from the number they first thought of, so I added even more screen wash.

Including a set of 3 Bosch wiper blades.

For only 55% of what Skoda took in 2017 for their gold plated ones, i.e. under £36 for 3.

Could you possibly grab the part numbers off the boxes?

I downloaded Android app Bosch Wiper blade,

It gives the best suggestion for Kodiaq Aerotwins, A862S with remark "wiper blade slightly shorter than original part".

There was me thinking that the genuine Skoda blades were Bosch Aerotwins in more expensive Skods branded boxes. Perhaps not.

Who knows. Can be glitch of the app, looking at the ovaerall rating.

Another source gives sizes for front Aerotwins 600 / 530 mm. Cannot compare though.

The wipers are terrible, don't know what else to say about them tbh.

There is one little problem. Original driver`s blade is 630 mm when Bosch is 600 mm.

Maybe on LHD version, but according to this original is 600mm for LHD anyway.

Strangely, the factory fitted drivers side blade is 630mm. Bosch do warn that their blade is shorter than the original.
