I bet you wouldn't go back to a manual now eh!

I'm open minded.  I still drive my son's polo manual now and again so 'keep my hand in' using the clutch and changing gear.  Whether I choose to pay the DSG premium depends on what I see as a good deal when I come to change my car.  Whilst I do like the DSG, I certainly wouldn't rule out going back to a manual car.  The manual gearbox is simpler which is an attraction in itself.  Plenty of time to make my mind up yet though.

Yes, understood nbramwel. Know what you mean. I originally went to auto because of a knee injury. It was going to take a year to heal, it actually took near 18 months.  I just couldn't use the clutch. So an auto was essential for me to keep driving. Much to my surprise I found both my wife and me fell in love with autos. Short of going back to two cars (which we don't need since I retired) I can't go back to a manual since my wife is just so pleased with the auto. She doesn't miss that 'stick thing' and the pedal you 'rest your foot on'! lol. We have always had several vehicles at our disposal but those are just not needed now and the Fabia is the only one we need.
