Hydra lives, Hail Hydra

So as I have posted in the Fabia section, a rather nice fellow decided to make the original Hydra a cat s, so here is the replacement. hydra is due to be made into a race or rally car, depending on time.

she is a MK2 estate, 170bhp 6 speed manual. I was tempted with the MK3 but the combination of the electronic handbrake, deep seated hatred of DSG, styling that only a mother could love and the unnecessary overload gadgets, made me chose this MK2, plus it was always going to be modified :)  first on the list was a homage to the Fabia with new badges.

All the chrome trim is to be covered, again , not too sure what, maybe go the lime green accents, to complement the badges?  there will be a ghost type wrap to follow at some time but need to work out the design, so it doesn't look too trashy :)

Next is alloys, not too sure what to go for but various options are

TSW Holstens

Oz hydras (if I can find a set of 19's

Or if I can find a good set, Lambo rims

Closely followed by some sort of lowering, coilovers or air? more to come once I have the parts but expect a gearknob with a resin insert with a part of the Hydras broken bumper and possibly a interior upgrade (RS6 electric)

Not a fan of the hard edges on the MK3, if I'm to spend that much money I really have to love it :) at least the wife won't object too much when I modify this.

She is now booked in on April 6th for her wrap, not going for the ghost wrap. Having a more in your face effect, the wife already hates the design, so a win in my book. Front splitter, rear diffuser and boot spoiler ordered, so progress is being made.

Now let the modifications begin :)

First there was this!

Seen this in the flesh today @Skodafest 2018

Like the previous car it does make itself known with the green.

All the best, watching this thread now you upgraded to a Superb.

That's a bold move with the wrap, love the look of it but don't think I'd have the balls for it.

Where did you get the rear diffuser from and skirts? They will look awesome when you've got them fitted.

Thanks for the comments, everything but the side skirts are on, thought they looked a bit odd unwrapped. All the parts are from Maxton design, quite good quality but the rear diffuser needed lots of work to make it sit right, this will soon be replaced by a modified standard one

I'm intrigued by your design. Is it off-the-shelf? Did you design it? How? It looks so random, like a paint splash. I like it a lot.

Is this some sort of event car? I notice it's got some type across the windscreen now.

The wheel combo you haven't pictured is a green rim on the front with a black rim on the back. Might be good, too.

Can't decide if I like the contrasting colours better, or the matching.

Anyway, nice one!

The wrap was an evolved design my son saw and my wrapper was given free reign to do what he wanted, the effect we were looking for was the 'crashed into the back of a paint truck' look/ we were originally going to do tiger stripes but couldn't agree on a design. this design has a few embossed Hydra logo's in the body. the name of the windscreen was the wrappers company 'Bean Vinyled' the car originally had the black wheels on the front and green on the back  but due to some arse in an ANG 63 the wheels were swapped around, so the two new tyres are on the back.

Hail Hydra

A few updates.

first there were lows, coilovers and Jade R's

got bored with my first wrap, so we changed to this  and limo tint on the rear.

131377857_10225626350986999_1543932178769264983_n.jpg.afc4cc1f0470668b1f1967cce13a969d.jpg201299592_10225626349906972_8794119378362355670_n.jpg.614c177c5f3573d71fdb4babac2c4227.jpg

and unfortunately it wasn't really up to scratch so is now being properly redone by my trusted wrapper, still work in progress. have ordered tinted rear reflectors for the bumpe after this the body kit will go on and maybe fit the big brakes.
