I'm thinking of purchasing a Karoq SE L which was very comfortable on the test drive. But I like all the included extras on the Edition trim only this has 19" wheels. Can I ask the dealer to order me a set of 18" wheels (those on the SE L trim) and swap my Edition 19" ones for 18" ones so I get the same ride comfort on the Edition as the test driven SE L?

Why not try the 19's? If you do not like them I am sure another owner with 18's will be happy to swap with you?

I had the same worries too.  I test drove a Karoq last weekend and forgot to check the wheel size but just found out it was the Edition with Craters which I'm glad to hear as I found the ride to be very smooth. 

 

I just wish we had a choice of the anthracite versions of the Crater wheels. 

 

I did ask my garage about them swapping to 18"s earlier but they said I'd have to buy a new set. 

I've tried all my local dealers but none have the Edition 1.5 Petrol, all they have are the Edition 2.0 4x4 which would have a different "ride feel" to the 1.5 Petrol SE L that I wish to directly compare the ride with. The dealer says ordering four extra 16" wheels for the Edition would be £1500 so rather than risking the 17" Edition wheels I'll probably spec up the SE L (16" wheels) and be out of pocket but at least know I'll have a comfortable ride in the end.

Have you driven the Edition ?

Where are you FabFabFabia? The dealer in Epsom, Surrey has a few demonstrators including Edition models and the 1.5. Dont worry about the ride on 19” wheels, its much less crashy than my Qashqai on 19”.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm in the West Midlands and a local dealer says he should have a 1.5 Edition coming in next week so hopefully I'll be able to test drive it to compare to the SE L trim I have already driven and loved.

Contact Skoda UK with your wheel size query.  Others on this forum have had the same dileama with different models.  Skoda UK have been very good and changed the wheel size during the car's build.  The worst they can say is 'no'.

One Skoda dealer quoted me £1500, another quoted me £2000!
