Rear speakers

Featured Replies

Can the rear speakers be plugged in the wrong way around? I had my rear windows tinted this morning and the tinter removed the rear door cards. The sound in the back is very quiet and slightly muffled. Can't hear anything from the rear tweeters and as above the woofers in the rear doors are quiet and muffled. I have Canton if that makes a difference.

Is it possible to plug the rear speakers in the wrong way around? Don't want to rip the door card off if it's not going to be that.

Thanks

Can't see how the tinter would have had to disconnect anything stereo related, speakers etc are usually part of the door assembly (well bolted to the door, not fixed to the card) with the door card simply fitting over the top.   He may have accidentally disconnected, snagged or cut a cable though ???

Take it back and ask them to remove the door card and check it out.

Actually has he completely removed the rear window?  I've had 2 cars tinted in the past and cant recall anyone needing to remove any trim to complete the job.

Thanks for that. Not sure what exactly he did or how he did it but he did say he had removed the door cards when asked. Assume it makes it much easier to line up against the edges of the glass. Happy with the tint job, the finish is perfect and the guy isn't an amateur. He does plenty of work for the local dealerships.

Anyway he did offer to take a look if I came back or as I live a distance away he offered to come and have a look on his way home.

Curiosity got the better of me in the meantime and I'd planned to remove the rear door cards to apply some sound deadening in the next few weeks so thought I'd have a look myself. Turns out the tweeter wasn't plugged in and all is good again now. :)

Glad you got it sorted.
