Fabia vRS vs Boyracer!

Featured Replies

LOL! They don't like it, although the guys there on the day knew me anyway so no harm done. I've been to other days and they get the right hump :DMarshall asked if I was extracting the urine as I put full beam lights on as I exited the paddock to go on track. When I came back after the sessions he was just wetting himself laughing.

At the start, no-one wanted passenger laps, by the end of the day, the Skoda was all the rage. Got some very nice comments, even from the instructor who was in the bodykitted beetle ;)

:rofl::thumbup:

Anyway back on topic:rolleyes:

Re-mapped Furb should be good up against a standard Cooper S, but even with a set of Eibachs on the Furb, the Mini would be much better through the twisties.

I used to drive a revo'd vRS and my mate a standard Scooby WRX 05 (225bhp) model. On the twisties he was much quicker' date=' and from a standstill, but over taking on A roads and on the M-way, I could just about keep up. Mind you he is a fat B@5t@rd and I'm not!

Tried it with another WRX once coming back from Silverstone, the Scooby driver looked puzzled as I stayed in his mirror......until we got to a round about, he slid round it so I gave up before we had an off!![/quote']

strange that as i had a race at phils old place with a WRX and he was just creeping away from me, made about 2 or 3 car lengths by 135mph yet in the same car we raced a remapped fabia vRS with PD160 intake and green filter and he was a looooooong way behind so i can't see how a fabia could keep up with the WRX, unless he's secretly taking the P out of you :)

not sure what you're getting at, I had similar results with 2 different wrx's! I know the lad in the first one, he's very competitive so he will deffinitely have been foot to the floor.

Any way I've given up racing other people as there's too much at risk, after one idiot tried it on with his two kids in the back seat - to55er! much rather have a play on my own, down local county lanes I know well:D

You know you can get in trouble for that if you get caught  Isn't a bathroom or bedroom good enough?????

I agree with Domo regarding the whole WRX thing, we have seen the video!!!!!

well this will be my last comment on it - I WAS THERE, TWICE!

Does any one on here have the car in question - Red Fab vRS reg ends in SXC? (Probably in North West)

Ahem..... [url']www.philgooch.com/video[/url]

oh you did... I seen your cv! lol

Gotta add my two pence worth guys,

Ive almost given up on the fast car thing as a result of kids and getting bored with the whole saga. But every so often the deamon creeps back in and tells me to put me foot down.

Now I neither have a problem getting off the lights, or ****ing people off midrange.

Get my furby in 3rd and just on the turbo and it goes like stink, have caught quite a few people out with it, they see the skoda badge and assume crap, slowness and generaly take for granted they can beat it.......HAHAHAHAHA

Ive had a few golfs in my time, and a saxo vtr, Calibra, etc etc and the furby is much faster than my tuned Mk3 golf, maybe not top end, but i would be gone by the time it got there. Yes its a diesel, but in my opinion it aint that slow, even my mums golf 140 tdi mk5 struggles.

If you really wanna beat anything though, get a motorbike, alot more fun and way faster than anything the lighter side of a supercar.

Not an S' date=' it was a regular cooper. Comparable pricing to buy them new, the Cooper S costs too much to be a reasonable comparison. It unsurprisingly outhandled the standard fabia but just didn't have the power to beat it.

I'd be curious to see a well sorted (eibachs, ARBs, TT brakes and remapped etc) Fabia against the Cooper S - then you'd have comparable price tags and balls-out performance from both of them :D[/quote']

IIRC the VRS obliterated the cooper in a straight line but it was a bit messy through the corners.

Most boys racers round here have fiestas and corsas so they will be easy as pie to annoy :)

Unless they're in the ST which'll give the Fabia a good whooping (according to the thread in the Fabia forums ;)) :D

'Nuff said.

I think some of them have "dieselphobia". A hate for something they don't understand!

Taka taka taka taka taka...
