I already have a tick box for mine but the description isn't associated with the refuel quantity so I have no need to alter the binary. Unfortunately I’m at work at the moment and don’t have the VCDS cable with me so can’t give the exact description. Think it must have moved but will post a screen shot so you guys can see and advise as soon as I can. 

Out of curiosity when you altered the binary to reveal bit 4 what was the description associated with it. If I had this I could hopefully run a search for it. 

So far a search for ‘Fuel’ or ‘ Refill’ reveals nothing. 

Incidentally does anyone have the security code for controller 17??

If you need to alter the binary there will be no description or tick box.

It will show the description on the latest software (don’t remember the exact wording but it’s obvious it’s for the refuel quantity)

 

25327... but it won’t work for everything (like altering the dash lights)

Incidently I did try ticking the box for bit 4 but this didn’t activate the refuel level on the Maxidot. Didn’t seem to do anything tbh. Not even any error codes so reversed it.

There have been changes to the coding on the FL O3, so things may not be in the same place. You really need to check the descriptions of each bit that is being changed.

@wg100  This is what mine is like exactly. Couldn’t remember straight off but seeing your screenshot confirms it. As all can now see bit 4 is populated but not with anything related to Refuel quantity. 

I have looked through all the Bytes here but nothing jumps out that could be the required bit to activate. 

Guess it’s been removed now but will check once more as soon as I can however it is mentioned in the user manual so theoretically it’s in here somewhere.

I don't know... Volume to be replenished sound pretty much like another way of saying Refuel Quantity to me! Remember, that phrase has been translated from German.

Doh!!

Do a soft reset when you "Do it".

A shot in the dark here but would you not have to tick Bit 0 as well? Especially if none of the items in the list are currently activated.

Shouldn’t be necessary (or possible?) for longcoding,

if it was under adaptations then yes 100% a soft reset should be done though.

 

@RoboOp did you go back into back into byte 10 to see if bit 4 was still ticked? 

Well guys sorry for the late reply but at last thanks to all the help from this post I gave eventually coded the twin rest fog lights and got the refill Turk quantity working. The later after a reset which I don’t quite understand but there you go.

Yes, but it's not very transparent in terms of what changes it makes. You select the change you want to make and hope it does the job! I've gone for VCDS now. You're welcome to my Carista dongle if you want!

As others have said before. Your spend X thousands of pounds on a nice new car, to then use a £30 dongle to change the software which runs it with no real idea as to exactly what changes are being made...

A 3-VIN VCDS cable runs to £225 which is less than the HBA option costs for factory install...

@Gizmo do you think that'd be the issue for rear fogs fit us,  setting voltage to 12v as mentioned above.  

Quite possibly yes, but yours are not LED fogs.

My 245 already has mirror drop, speedo read out and turn signal options? Pretty sure it has both rear fogs as well.
