So the top of the gearstick trim DSG has cracked, leaving quite a sharp shard of plastic.  Not sure how it happened.

 

Need to get it replaced, anyone know if that top piece is a push on piece or how it is secured?

 

I'll be onto Skoda to see if it is a warranty job.

Mine had same crack and was replaced as warranty job.

Hi Matt, that is encouraging. I've submitted photos to Skoda so hopefully they will do the right thing.

Maybe it's a known fault because mine has done exactly that, I've even cut my finger on it before now.

Ive never done anything about getting it sorted though

No crack but having just purchased a used 14 month year old SE L Exec I discovered on day two that the chrome surround has worn away, presumably by a ring of some sort, see photo. Anyone else suffered the same fate?

 

Is it possible to purchase a replacement chrome surround and/or DSG badge? Is this a warranty claim?

Don't know, but now there are no cracks after one year.

I have a replacement one on order under warranty.  Exact same top left corner as above.  Happened in less than 12 months

Do you happen to know if it is the whole unit, or just the top cap?

Godt mine replaced after 1½ yrs due to a crack like in the first post.

<UPDATE> Dealer agreed to replace the entire stick, now have a nice shiny gear knob.

Good find. Skoda might replace it as it is a known issue. If not then the Ali option is well worth a try. 

I just bought, because the 13$ well worth it...less than the cost, to drive to the dealership and back😉
