Columbus radio switching channels by itself

Featured Replies

Just noticed this morning, my Columbus nav unit changed from Radio 1 to the Planet Rock on DAB randomly.

Is this common, fixable, just some quirk to live with?

Clever Columbus I say. Good  choice of channel selection.

Make sure the screen is clean, use a good quality screen cleaner liquid and a microfiber cloth.

I've moved my hand in front of the screen before & accidently changed channel but not had it do it on its own.

MIB1 Columbus? Can be a faulty touchscreen as was known on few of the early cars.

Also, you can probably change the radio station using the buttons on the steering Wheel.

Are you sure you didnt tap one by mistake?

My MIB1 Columbus switched from radio x to smooth radio twice this morning, it  was still cold/damp so I think touchscreen goes a bit funny (does this worse on the Amundsen in the scout also when cold)

I’ll give it a good clean. I’ve noticed the touchscreen is a bit picky when cold, and it definitely changed by itself, as my hands were not on the mfsw buttons.

Mine did it all the time - the 'phantom' others have referred to it as. Mine strikes at any point and there is not any pattern to it either, cold or warm the phantom tests my patience. At times it will completely lock up and not be responsive, sometimes it can be fixed by hard switching it on and off but not always. I gave it a good clean like most have said but there was no marked improvement.

I have since disconnected my phone from the car and touch wood it hasn't played up for a week and half now .
