Sportsline towbar

Featured Replies

Ok I’m just looking online to fine a company I can trust to supply and fit a detachable towbar with dedicated 13 pin electrics on the car iv put a deposit on the car is a 67 plate sportsline hatch 4x4 . I live in Nottinghamshire but willing to travel for a good recommend company.

I guess first thing is to check if your car has towbar prep or not. I suspect not but worth a look as it will influence what you could fit.

I've always fitted my own so can't help with a company but I would deffo use the model specific kit and get it coded properly to the car,  much better then one of the generic kits on such a new vehicle. I've fitted both types and the specific ones are less heartache, even though I had to take them to the garage to get them coded as I dont have the software etc.

Will Skoda not chuck one in as part of the deal?  Or have you gor a good deal anyway?

So far so good but I haven't attached anything to it yet.

Lights work on the test board, tidy job under the car, cannot be seen when not attached / elecs lowered, entire process to fit was 3.5 hrs, hook itself is very good quality (but very heavy), no play once attached. A bit fiddly to get on / off but this is probably down to it being new and a lack of familiarity, x2 keys supplied.... happy!

Used it today for the first time in anger, spot on, super easy to attach!

I didn't use elect so once in revers it was constant alarming from the reversing sensors (as expected!), this is far more annoying than is comprehensible! If I were to attaceh a plug (nothing wired to it, just the plug!), would this stop the problem or failing that, can you buy "blanks" for said purpose?

I've recently had a Westfalia fitted to my car and it looks fine but I've just tried to connect the 13 pin plug and eventually got it on, but what a struggle. The socket doesn't really swing down far enough in my opinion. Not sure whether I can cut a bit more out of the bumper or somehow extend the pivot on the socket. Anybody else had this problem and solved it?
