i own an ex plod octavia 4x4 6 speed 2.0 estate, with very high mileage, and have tried to find a workshop manual for it, all the haynes crappy books dont cover it and make a point of it, as a retired army mech i do most of the work myself, but with all these new fangled  electronic bits etc would like to see what is going on, anyone know where you can get something that covers the 4x4 6 speed 2.0 diesel model?? 

Honestly, I don't think you will find any books available covering your model, I can't even find anything for the standard vRS model. All you can do really is refer to this Briskoda Forum and all the other VW/Audi forums available on the internet obviously the chassis is based on the Audi A3 model and the Golf mk5. As far as my BWA engine is concerned I look for information on these forums and have found YouTube to be very helpful as well.

Part numbers can definitely help in search of information, if no one has ever changed a n80 valve on an Octavia, some one will have changed one on a mk5 golf for example .
