Roomster console bushes?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have a feeling that the rear console bushes on my Scout have had it, can anyone confirm if they are the same type as the Fabia MK 1? Been doing a bit of digging and that seems to be the case, but confirmation would be good ;)

Fitted a set of these to my MK 1 VRS after getting fed up of regular replacements on the OEM ones - https://psbushings.com/fabia/ - they were great, and easy to fit too.

Thanks in advance :)

It's a 58 plate, part 2A on your link certainly looks like the ones the Fabia VRS had originally.

Sounds like I'm gonna have to get it up on a lift and take a look, thanks for the info :)

Thanks for the info, with the weather we've been having I might wait until I can get it on the lift in a nice dry garage ;)

Hi Double V, I can recommend the Meyle bushes, more rubber and less air than the OEM parts, sharpens up the steering, they last longer, but chatter at low speeds on broken surfaces.  A good replacement compromise that still provides a decent amount of compliance/comfort.  And not stupid expensive, I recall!

Presume your Scout has the 16" wheels and lower-profile tyres, which give an inherently harder ride. Mine is basic roomie on the 15" alloys, so taller-sidewall tyres. MID-MARCH EDIT. Had 4x Kumho winter tyres fitted, dramatic reduction in broken-surface chatter. Summers are Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 195/55 R15.

I've seen the odd post about the Meyle bushes, and yes 16's with low profile, exactly the same as on my previous Fabia VRS which had poly bushes for the last couple of years and wasn't too bad, considering I rack up 20000 miles a year communiting ;)
