Can anybody tell me why the front end of my 42k 02 octavia vrs creaks when i go over a speedbump? i live in speed ramp city and its really really annoying

Could be the bushes on the ARB or the drop links ???

Seconded on the ARB bushes, my old octy was the same.

bummer, is this something thats covered on my warranty? or how much is it gona cost me to get it done? is this normal for 42 k miles?

My Focus suffered with that. The part was only ~20quid from Ford. not sure about VAG.

Be carefull with this, quite often rather than the bushes its the collar on the ARB itself that causes the problem -- replacing the bushes sorts it for a period of time only to come back.

We are replacing loads on A3/TT (same setup) the ARB has a collar on it which is then also coated with the ARB - this coating cracks allowing moisture in between the collar and ARB - thus allowing the collar to move and creak -- only real way to sort it is to replace ARB & Bushes. That said as long as the coating is not cracked and there are no signs of rust replacement of bushes on there own would be fine.

err.. think ill be off to see midland vw for that one then, doesnt sound like something i really want to attempt myself... give me some light bulbs to change anyday
