No power to number plate bulbs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have the warning on the dash for number plate bulb out,  both are not working.

Multimeter check of the cable shows no power :S

Looking online there is no separate fuse for these,  do I need to reset something?

Other lights back of car work with no issues

I was testing with the boot (combi) open, Im assuming power is given even if the boot is open?

Thanks bigjohn,  mine is a combo not twindoor so dont think there will be much stress in the cable in the grommit.

I'll still see if I can get into the grommit to check the cabling.

cheers

Problem resolved, thanks for the info bigJohn.  As soon as i pulled back the grommet and seen the red electrical tape it was obvious. Previous repair (not me) had only twisted the wires together, this shorting of this particular cable  added more strain on it.

I soldered in an additional small piece of cable, Unfortunately I don't have heatshrink sleeving this small so black electrical tape wrapped tight had to do.
