HI guys, just curious, what is Skoda connect and can any of us with the SUperb 3 get it? I tried using the app but it tells me I already have an account with "that email address". When I try to reset the password, I just keep getting an error.

 

A bit weird and frustrating. I don't want to waste more time on it if I cant use it etc.

I find it useful for starting the pre-heater and sending sat nav locations to the car. If your alarm goes off it tells you too, and you can check if the car is unlocked, how much fuel is in it etc.

 

Is the error on the web or the mobile app?

It's on the web and the app. it seems convinced I have an account with my email. (Don't remember signing up)> When I try to recover lost password, I get an error. Annoying.

You probably did it at the dealership, it was the first thing that was done for us. I feel it's a bit of a gimmick, it was fun to begin with checking things but now I never use it.

FYI if you ever change your email address then you cannot change it on skoda connect and nor can skoda. I have been advised to disconnect my account from the car, delete my account and then do it all over again. The dealer did it for us the first time and I have yet to do it with my new address so don't know how easy it is. 

Well, finally managed to register an email! However, it says "The VIN you entered has no ŠKODA Connect services"

 

How does one enable it? Is it free? And is it worth it? My car is a 66' plate.

I just tried and got exactly the same. Mine is a 2017 17 Plate. 

 

Any ideas? 

MY16 - optional independent SmartGate box accessed using SmartGate app.

MY17 - infotainment upgraded with SmartLink+ that merges SmartGate into infotainment, accessed using Skoda OneApp.

MY18 - infotainment upgraded to include Skoda Connect accessed using Skoda Connect app.

 

None of these upgrades are backwards compatible. Only MY18 infotainment, the one without the physical side buttons, has Škoda Connect in the Menu.

Need to speak to a dealer. Here I think the cars come with a year online services included, after that there's a small charge to keep it going, but I'm not 100% it's the same in UK.

 

I would pay a reasonable amount, say, €50 a year, for the remote heater activation alone!

Need to suss out the remote heater, I’ve not noticed it on the app. Have the s3’s got an auxiliary heater?

Checked again and can’t see about a pre heat?

 

Anyone know how much it costs in the UK to get it installed by dealer?

The auxiliary heater is an option, even on L&K. Plenty of Webasto dealers who could install one aftermarket, not sure on pricing though.
