Dealer - no movement on used car price

Haha, ring him up and offer to buy it in 3 years time, save the dealer making a profit lol.

Yep I could do, I have his name and address on the V5 :)

Exactly! Might get lucky and it could have an even higher spec ;)

So the car you are interested in is on sale for just over £16000.

if it's a 2014, 64 plate then the car was worth £24500 when it was first registered, the extras it has adds nothing to the value, they only make it more attractive when selling on. Now that car is worth around £11500 if you were trading it in,  so there is the true value of the car.

i will give you another example of my personal experience I traded in a mint condition 2014, 14  plate vrs hatchback with 6030 miles on it, it was worth £10000 and I got £12000, dealer sold it for £15500, it had 1500 worth of extras fitted.

A good deal is only relevant to the purchaser. If it’s the car type you are after, got the spec you wanted, has acceptable miles and age and fits the realistic budget you have in mind for a car of that age and miles, would you really walk away just because they wouldn’t drop £500?

As a Scotsman, I'd walk away if they wouldn't drop £50. :D

Which, at the end of the day, is the only thing that matters. Good luck with your new car.

Congrats, good to see :)

Well i must be one of the lucky ones then !

I managed to get nearly a grand knocked off my vrs tdi 5 months ago, up for 14k paid 13150 after i put in a stupid offer and i was quite happy with what i paid, compared to other vrs's that were on sale at the time...

Didn't really want to buy the vrs I've got now, mainly because of the colour, but it had good spec, apart from sat nav, good milage 12 months warranty and breakdown, cant believe its on my drive now, as it was the most expensive car out of about 5 i was looking at, but eventually got it for the same price as other cars that had less spec and more miles !

Also got mine from a Skoda dealer that even drove the car 40 miles to another dealer that was closer to me, seems they couldn't sell fast enough lol

Love the way you're comparing a VRS to a Lamborghini. Pretty certain the Urus has mudflaps...

I've got flaps on my VrS estate, no crap flicking up behind me - just high levels of NOX

Ahem.  I'll have you know that the heated, fan style washer jets that fit the vRS are exactly the same ones used on a Gallardo :D
