Adjust throttle pedal

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just purchased a citigo 13 plate and the throttle pedal has to be pressed in a bit before the car accelerates.

I did look for a throttle cable to adjust but could not find it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Stephen

They all have to be pressed "a bit" to accelerate the car. Are you saying that the first bit of pedal travel does not make the engine rev at all? Try it gently  in neutral with the handbrake on.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Your explanation is correct "that the first bit of pedal travel does not make the engine rev at all?". I though that it would be a simple task of adjusting the accelerator cable but looking under the bonnet I could not find a cable.

@Stephensworld ... because there isn't one. It's a "drive by wire" throttle where the opening is selected by reading the value from a variable resistor attached to the pedal. It may be possible to adjust "lost travel" in VCDS.

Aah that explains it. I will do a bit of research but it looks like I need to get it looked at. Thanks for you help
