Retro fit cruise control superb mk111

Featured Replies

I asked this question about a year ago now but at the time there was no kits available from Skoda i just wondered is the situation the same now or is it possible to fit a cruise control to a Mk111 superb now

Have to presume yours is the S which is the only variant without cruise as standard (well it was in 2016). 3 years ago we looked at a new Polo and the stock car did not have cruise fitted. The dealer had a supply of VAG kits in his office which they fitted to most of the cars they sold, the kit + fitting was cheaper than specifying factory fit cruise. From memory all it involved was changing the indicator stalk and entering the computer to tell it what had been done. Cannot see why exactly the same cannot be done on a Superb, all VAG stalks are exactly the same.

Your dealer should be able to retrofit CCS to your car.

+1 I’ve had CC retrofitted on both an Octavia and Fabia vRS, dealer fit and surprisingly they weren’t silly money.

Cant see it being impossible on the S3

I'm sure that when I ordered my Superb, the S had normal cruise control and the other models had ACC.

I was was tempted to order an S and spec it up, just to avoid having ACC.  However, the S wasn't available as a 2.0 diesel, only a 1.6

My last Passat (B7) was bought secondhand from a VW main dealer, and I got them to fit CC as part of the deal. It was on a third stalk, like the Superb. ISTR that it also required a new cowl as well, due to the extra stalk.

I retro-fitted cruise to a B5 Passat that I owned a few years ago. The VAG kit contained a replacement indicator stalk and a wiring loom. The extra wiring had to be connected into one of the ECU plugs and the steering wheel and airbag had to come off to change the stalk. There was also some coding involved, which I did with VAGCOM.

The Superb does not have a seperate stalk, if it´s just normal cruise control - then it´s in the blinker stalk like on the 3T.

The retrofit itself is just as simple as on the older models, however on these MQB cars the functions must be activated via a unique code included in the kit. This requires an online ODIS tester.

u referring to a retrofit scenario here?

cause the mk3 superb definitely has a seperate and dedicated cruise control stalk.  u can see it in the image below, between the steering wheel gap, bottom left.

this is also used to control the gap for ACC.  it can also be used trigger cruise control the old fashion way, or leave it as active crusie.

How do you trigger "normal" CC? I've tried to do this when radar goes down but had no success.

There is mode button below the stalk.

This will switch between active cruise or speed set cruise.

See attached image - it's labelled "B"

I have a Superb with ACC myself, thanks.

I’m talking about the NON ACC version, ‘u know’?

Does’nt matter if it’s factory or retrofit; standard cruise is operated on the wiper stalk, not a seperate stalk.

The mode button only switches between ACC and speed limiter, which is not normal CC, unfortunately.

If it was, I would be very happy.

The partnumber for OEM cruise control is 3V0800054 (/A depending on current equipment).

(JR RS - sorry, but I don´t understand half of your last post...)

Photo is from P. 232 in the Superb Owners Manual.

Speed limiter is not cruise, had a courtesy Fabia with that but no cruise.  You set it at the speed you want to go and keep your foot on the accelerator, unless you push the button under the pedal it won't go any faster than the set speed but it slows down if you take your foot off.

Yes, but a Superb has both.

I've been looking to retrofit manual cruise control to my 1.4tsi S Mk3 superb since I bought it in 2016 (ordered as an option, but skoda "forgot" to fit it, but I negotiated enough money off the purchase price to still go ahead - but I've been missing cruise control ever since!). It wasn't available retrofit from the start, and I've looked quite a few times since and still no kit available. Until i looked today at (http://eshop.skoda-auto.com/cz/en/b2c/cruise-control-system-for-octavia-iii-and-superb-iii-3v0054800ax# ). This appears to be the right kit (and mentions the part number discussed above in this forum).  I tried to buy (as only £18!?) but it says currently not in stock.

I assume if i were able to buy it would be relatively easy to install. BUT would require so update to the car's electronic system to enable. I've seen apps reviewed online that plug into the diagnostics port and allow you to play around with settings. Anyone got any thoughts on if these apps could allow you to re-code and enable the cruise control easily?
I'll be asking my dealer for a cost - but I suspect won't be cheap! Thanks for any advice!

You need the dealer to activate cruise using the included SWAP code.

just to add, the mode button on the ACC stalk was introduced on MY17 cars.. earlier cars dont have that.
