Hartside Cafe burned down

Featured Replies

Sad news that Hartside Cafe has burnt down as fire crews struggled to reach it due to the snow. Hopefully it will be rebuilt again soon and the owners can bounce back from this set back.

Yes, I was sad to hear that news.  Myself and a few old buddies usually have a trip out there on the bikes during the summer.  Hope it can be rebuilt again.

RIP. Great run down there many times. Is it not a listed building?

Also it’s a little bit strange that it burnt down when the emergency services couldn’t reach it quickly due to snow? Hope it gets refurbished for the summer.

Oh WOW! Just seen this post, although I'm a biker riding a Triumph TT600, I rarely check out this forum. Four friends and I did the coast to coast cycle ride in September 2016 and Hartside was a memeorable stop on our trek.
