I'm going to be fitting a towbar to my Fabia shortly and am planning on using the Standard Skoda Supplied fixed swan neck bar.

Does anyone know it it is neccessary to use the available Skoda electrics kit, other than being convenitent and easy to fit does it do anything special. I knoe some modern cars require a multiplexing relay and some electronics for the towbar electrics? Is this the case with the Fabia or is it still ok to use a standard 12N socket and scotch lock to connect it the cars wireing loom?

The genuine kit is very good I have used it. Nice and neat with all the right plugs etc. You can also enable towing in the Central Electronics ECU.

Well worth the money.
