The diesel renaissance

Featured Replies

This on the day that Toyota canned diesels across Europe?

And VW-owned PORSCHE already did?

Looks like fake news...

Toyota will drop diesel cars in Europe this year.

Toyota, however, will continue to offer diesels versions of its Land Cruiser large SUV, Hilux pickup truck and Proace light commercial vehicles because some customers want the higher torque offered by diesels,

Still making and selling diesels then.

(nirvana for the servicing division managers and their bottom line)

He has massive engine plant geared up for diesels so wants to flog them for another couple of years to bridge the gap between their EV projects and waiting to see in European cities do actually ban diesels from entering and put the final nail in the wiesel coffin.

It's cyclical. Diesel today, petrol tomorrow and one day it will be EVs.

I've said before and I'll say it again it's only a matter of time before EVs get demonised for the mining for lithium or battery toxicity or something else.

What you have to bear in mind is that the green lobbing is an industry in itself. It has to lobby against something or people will be out of work. Therefore something will always be wrong.

Dealerships can already see light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately it turns out to be a cheap to maintain BEV (with even more grunt than a diesel)

approaching much faster than they had thought possible.
