What accessories?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Picking up my 2016 Mk3 Superb Estate next week and was wondering what advice on accessories would you give me.

Will be a family car young kids (food / sweets / drinks consumed), no pets, like to get away (camping) but will be doing no more than 10k miles per year in and around town predominantly.

So what would you recommend are must haves and nice to haves outside and in?

PS Have had tow bar fitted by dealership and have my own roof bars.

Hi I would suggest the over tunnel mat for the rear, my kids knackered the carpet in the octy with their feet. Also consider proper Skoda mats they really are worth the money. Thirdly if it does not have one fit a rear guard to protect the bumper, it is surprising how many scratches can happen when shifting stuff in and out of the "boot". I am also a believer in mud flaps too. The last or first thing on your shopping list should be a full size steel spare, with jack etc, also make sure you have or buy the cover removal tool many people have bought a spare and jack set and found no removal tool, the result is that you are stuck,,,, look on Ebay  for the majority of these bits, genuine is best in most cases. Enjoy the car and good luck.....

Im in a similar family situation to you. I have:

Rubber mats all round

Tunnel mat

Plastic boot tray/dish

Rear bumper lip protector

Mudflaps

Superskoda LED boot lights

Superskoda LED door lights

Roofrack, but you've got that

Mine came with a spare and a towbar,  but I'd have added both otherwise

All of mine came from superskoda. They were substantially cheaper than the UK dealers - the mud flaps for example are 15 euros a pair rather than 35 quid here.

I bought my car from Sinclair's in Swansea last year and managed to get a set of mudflaps fitted included in the deal and I'd certainly agree with the above comments about getting a set.  Mine came with carpet mats, though without children or pets we don't need rubber mats or the tunnel cover.   The car came with pretty much everything I needed, so there's not much to add.  I always carry a red triangle and reflective vests just in case of an emergency, though these are general safety items rather than specific accessories for your vehicle.

You don't mention which model you have and what options are fitted.  I've recently had some changes made by another member with VCDS to various settings that can't be altered using the touchscreen.  It may be worth looking through various threads to see if there's anything you'd lake to alter on your car.  For instance, I've had TSR (traffic sign recognition) enabled on mine that was an option when new that wasn't selected.

  • The flip over mat for the boot is great. Carpet on one side and rubber on the other.
  • Those little litter bins for the doors are essential even though no food/sweets will be consumed. You soon find that old car park tickets have no home when they are used for instance.
  • +1 on tunnel cover
  • +1 on mudflaps for every wheel
  • if you haven't already got one then the full size spare wheel is good to have.
  • roofbars (that you already have)
  • genuine Skoda fitted mats (carpet for the odd summers days and rubber ones for the rest of the year)
  • A set of winter wheels with winter tyres is on my want list too.
  • As you are getting the estate then the boot floor leveller would be good to have. You can still use the double sided boot mat with that.
  • Replace all your wipers with Bosch ones if they are making any scraping noises. The factory fit rear wiper for instance is dire.

Get the Canton upgrade if you need to tune out the kids.
