Help! Repairing light crash damage.

Featured Replies

Hi,

So i was very silly and had a run in with a tree stump in the snow. I hit it on the nearside and cracked the bumper, headlight, broke the washer bottle and bent the power steering pump - see pics.

Luckily the power steering still works but it makes a whining sound now. Whilst trying to repair the damage i've found a hose that isnt connected, can you help identify what it is and where it should be connected?

Also, do you think I'll be alright leaving the power steering pump in it's new 45 degree position? I've tried bending it back but its pretty stuck.

Many thanks,

Adam

Don't worry about the pipe, it's a drain for the battery box, so is meant to be open at that end.

I suggest you try (a bit harder) to bend the PAS pump bracket back so that the pump module is closer to upright, even if you can't get it perfect. Alternatively, get hold of a replacement bracket from scrapyard or similar.

Ok that's a relief. Thanks for the reply. I'll give bending another go. I'm a bit scared that I'll do more damage.
