Hi guys, 

 

Recently bought a 2013 Octavia combi TDi Cr Elegance. 

 

With previous cars I've always bought the Haynes manual... but as far as I can make out there's no Haynes manual for this model Octavia?

Can anyone tell me where I could get the likes of torque settings (and other bits of information that tends to come from a Haynes manual) for this model?

 

Also, I found the detachable towbar in the sparewheel compartment... but I've no key for it! Does anyone know if these are easily replaceable or if I can use it without the key?

There should be a number on the lock barrel where you put the key in. That’s the code for a replacement key. Westfalia hooks won’t let you take the key out unless it’s fixed in position on the car first.

I'll have a look at both of those sites for workshop manuals. 

 

Regarding the towbar - I'm not sure if it's a Westfalia one... it has a VW part number on it. I'm assuming it came with the car from the factory. 

Key may be the same pattern as Thule roof rack ones. Cheap cut-to-code on eBay.
