Current drive 2016 m135i manual; vrs next?

Featured Replies

We are expecting baby number 2 in May and my wife and I both have 1 series. I am thinking they may be a bit small so I am looking at either a pre facelift 230 or a facelift. Other than sat nav and heated seats I am not after much else. Is there any real difference other than looks between the two Octavias? Thanks all

Pre facelift 230 will have VAQ diff which will help get the power down. It also came withe electric heated seats as standard, and the black design pack plus.

Facelift 230 is the 'standard' version, with the 245 getting the extra kit as above.

If you were considering new, neither petrol engines are available to order at present though...there are a few threads about the reason why (or speculation as to why  )

Thanks for the message. I am probably after a used one as I will need it by June time I would have thought. I have seen a 230 advertised at 17k but it has done 30,000 miles .

Buy mine for 19.5k with 2000 Miles. Meteor Grey 230 manual

Facelift registered December 2017.

Haha yes not sure how I got to that! Just spoke to Skoda and no good finance deals. Might offer 16.25

We used to have a 118i 1.6T petrol auto so outside of the power difference you will notice a massive increase in space, much easier rear access and more front footwell room.

The driving position of the Octavia is better as the pedals are not offset which was a gripe of mine in the 1 series, the auto was bad the manual terrible.

Build quality and trim is surprisingly similar, I always felt a bit short changed in the BMW for the price.

The things the BMW does better.

idrive is easier to operate although doesn't the functionality of the Octavia.

BMW sport seats offer more adjustability and are more comfortable.

Obviously the rear wheel drive handling and steering feel.

Although I have had many DSG equipped cars the ZF8HP in the BMW is the best automatic gearbox bar none.
