What colour is my car???

Featured Replies

Looking a bit of help from the resident experts.

Recently bought a late 2014 Octavia VRS Esate.

It's white, but I'm not sure which type (although I'm fairly certain it's candy white).

The sticker on the boot floor is a bit scuffed and it's difficult to pick out any paint code from it.

My issue is that when I enquired about the car, the dealer told me they had replaced the drivers door handle cap.

What he didn't tell me is that the replacement is not the right shade of white.

The cap has an almost bluey tinge to it - it makes the rest of my car almost look dull, which leads me to believe the cap is moon white (metallic) while my car is actually candy white.

Is there any other way to confirm the paint code, before I go ahead and order a replacement?

Obviously I could get back to the dealer and get them to sort it for me, but as a wise man once said "If you want a job done right..."

Also, there's the small matter of a stretch of water between us, which just makes things more difficult.

Thanks in advance

Other than the sticker Moon is metallic and Candy is solid.

Not sure when moon was introduced, mine is a 2014 and moon was not available

Thanks.

Wasn't aware moon was only available later on - I'd say it's almost definitely candy then.

Put A4 white paper on it and take a photo, I will tell you which white is.

Candy is a bit yellowish.

Laser is most close to neutral white.

Moon is blueish and my favorite, different when you change the angle and changes during the day.

Thanks for the offer, but based on your description and what I had already thought, I'd be inclined to run with ordering candy white if I can.

Or hop on the online chat on the Skoda Customer Service site. Request the spec of your car. Took me less than 5 minutes to get full factory spec B)

That sounds like a great idea - thanks

Candy and Laser white were both free flat paints. Moon white is a pearlescent paint and was a chargeable option.

I had a Laser White car and it had a blueish tinge. If you think of led bulbs candy is like warm white and laser white is like cool white. You would definitely be able to tell if you had Moon white in the sunshine.
