Where in the engine bay is this?

I think, if it was near the differential casing of the gearbox, that it isn't a sensor at all. Weirdly, when vehicle speed sensors in gearboxes were replaced by info from the wheel speed sensors of the ABS system, the cars continued to have the connector and wiring in the loom, so this is just a dummy fitting for that wiring to plug into. It normally fits into the hole where the vehicle speed sensor would have been fitted. Yours has broken off; have a look at the left side of first photo in this listing, and you may see how it resembles part of the black plastic 'thing', which looks a bit like a pistol aimed to the left.

If the is it, just tyrap it out of the way somewhere, and make sure there's still something blocking the hole in the diff.

What your pictures show looks more like what I'm talking about than a knock sensor or part thereof.

I'm fairly sure. The knock sensor on your car looks like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16579-H7M-2010-2014-MK2-5J-SKODA-FABIA-1-2-PETROL-ENGINE-KNOCK-SENSOR-030905377C/263196676429?epid=1830090452&hash=item3d47be914d:g:A2EAAOSwZcZZs93P

See if you can match it up with your photos.

It's located on the back of the engine block, probably hard to see behind the inlet manifold except maybe from below.
