Metal (type) pedal covers

Featured Replies

NO ,why change a great quality car ,I was just surprised at the new throttle peddle does not appear as a complete plug in unit like some of the older stainless steel ones but a simple slip on type.no offence.

AndysueW, My throttle pedal cover keeps coming off despite using hot water to soften it and a touch of washing up liquid to ease it over.   Any tips?  I assume the correct fitment is with the longer metal edge to the bottom (if you get my drift!).

Mine is rock solid. Might be the washing up liquid allowing it to slip off. I soaked mine for a good 5mins in boiling water to soften up enough to work it over the pedal. It took some effort but got it there. Just make sure you get the edges folded around the pedal properly to keep in place. Sad555’s image above is correct.

I have Chinese ones on a Fabia (Also fit Golf, polo, Seat, etc). I found the rubber a little soft, so they can move very slightly. Not an issue though. The main thing was the throttle was designed for Lefties, not UK Righties and as a result, is a few mm longer. Again, not an issue except when a big footed person goes under the pedals and knocks it off. Cured with a little silicone sealant, used to lightly glue it in place. Never fell off again. I cold also do that to stop the squirming but hey! Why go to the trouble of removing them, adding sealant and re-fitting them?  Perhaps it would have been nicer and easier to have the harder rubber, mentioned here but for my set of three, I paid LESS then a fiver delivered! Skoda want TEN times that amount!

Oh, I tried the older versions from China before the later shape pattern. They had the small rubber blocks going from left to right. The blocks wore out quickly so I upgraded to the newer type, which look nicer anyway (Couldn't find them at first).
