Metal (type) pedal covers

Featured Replies

I fancy replacing the brake and throttle pedal rubbers with the metal (or similar) covers I see on some newer versions.  Can anyone point me in the right direction please?  My car is a Mk3 Superb DSG 15 plate.  Thanks.

Not one I was thinking of doing, but a question if I may. Superskoda says it is standard on RS models. What is an RS model Superb? Is it the Sportline?

Yes Sportline has the pedal covers as standard .

Cheaper than Superskoda. Come with the genuine VW stamping and part numbers too.

They might come with VW stamping, but at less than £11 and free shipping from China I would seriously doubt they were genuine. Worth a punt at that price though

Genuine Chinese copy more like...

Make sure you fit correct OE covers ,  the fitment is critical from a safety perspective .   And be prepared for a bit of a struggle getting the Accelerator cover fitted ... those rubber flanges are pretty stiff !!  :)

I’m guessing by the thanks, the copies are a better option for MChris, but agreed… you don’t want a loose flange

Purchased and fitted 12 months ago. Absolutely no problems Had to soak them in hot water to make them pliable enough to fit over the pedals. Once installed, no movement even after a year and 30k.

I have also had the chinese copies from Aliexpress for a year and still look like brand new. These were a very tight fit and I doubt they will ever come loose. The footrest I would definetly suggest to get the genuine one since the quality of those from china is appalling. The Octavia version (identical to Superb footrest) is around 12£ for the original atleast thats what my local dealer shows in the online store, part number is 5E1064209.

Bought & fitted the set as mentioned by Andysuew.  Bit of a struggle getting the throttle one on.  All seems good to go!  Thanks all.

Glad I could help. With the extra $$ you saved, buy yourself a nice single malt  and celebrate!!!

Is there a set of these available for manual cars. I’ve had a look and can’t find any except genuine ones I think they are looking at the price.

Thanks the skud. I just put my order in. Can’t wait for them to arrive.

Can anyone recommend one for the footrest?

Superskoda, mine has been dispatched yesterday, I'll post some photo's when it arrives, I know quite a few people have had issues with deliveries but it would appear that they have processed and dispatched my order in a couple of days........I wait in anticipation!

AndysueW, My throttle pedal cover keeps coming off despite using hot water to soften it and a touch of washing up liquid to ease it over.   Any tips?  I assume the correct fitment is with the longer metal edge to the bottom (if you get my drift!).

That picture is showing nothing like my DSG pedals.

NO I appreciate that, THESE  above are from a  Skoda manual BUT the throttle was a well made 1piece unit it used to be made like this, not the cheapo slip on/off version like SOME are now.below.

Not sure I understand Sad555… you want MChris to change his car? I would be inclined to try OEM ones (same design btw) before that

It might be a bad mould with some excess rubber (in the gutter) stopping the frame sitting flush. Also check how the dimensions line up to the original… might need a trim.
