Right side lights not working.

Featured Replies

Hi all. Having a strange problem. The side light and rear light refuse to work and just on the right side. Left is ok.  They work on the parking light so I know they aren't blown. I've checked all the fuses.

Any thoughts lads.

Really stumped on this. Changed the side lights to standards as they had LEDs. No joy. Keep getting the bulb check error and no driver side rear light or sidelight. But park light works fine. So bulbs ok. ????

Have you tried a new fuse for fuse 33, or swapping fuse 34 and 33?

Cheers. Will try that now

Tried swapping 33 and 34. No joy. Tried different fuses as well. Also notice I get the error when I insert fuse 20. Which is the bulb failure warning I presume? The bulbs are fine and the parking lights work fine with the stalk. Could the headlight switch be at fault?

I get so many gremlins with this car I'm seriously considering a new seat Leon fr :)

Yeah could be the headlight switch.

Thanks mate. I had a spare one coming in the post to have a go at changing the LEDs anyway so will try that next.

Such a strange error this one. Really baffling me. I'd be surprised if it's the headlight switch

I think it has to be, unless it's a broken wire or bad connection between pin 14 of the switch and the first junction point where the parking light grey/red joins on.

Haynes diagram is actually a lot easier to follow than the official current flow diagrams, cheers Lee.

Thanks for all the help lads. I don't know if it actually did the trick. But I changed the led bulb in the glovebox to a standard one and suddenly it's starting working again. Could be intermittent I suppose but I'm changing nothing from now on ha

I've also got a another headlight switch on standby in case it happens again.

They are on entirely different circuits so has to be a coincidence. Keep that spare headlight switch handy ;)
