Hi everyone,

 

Just bought a 2014 1.2 TSI OCTY.  Have a rattle that is noticeable revving from idle, and in lower gears.  Sounds like a tinny, metallic, gear-y, grind-y sound/rattle.  Any idea what this could be?

Maybe it’s hmm normal TSI ticking sound? Youtube is full with it, usually claimed as “normal” in the end.

It's definitely more of a rattle than a ticking

Does it disappear when you press the clutch?

No, as it's there when you rev from idle (without clutch being depressed)
