OCT III headlight software update?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Car going in tomorrow for headlight software update??

Any idea what this is about?

What sort?

Halogen, xenon or led?

Auto dip?

At my first service in 2015, I had the light control modules replaced.

The dealer told me the old ones had a risk of leaking & causing a "thermal event" so they were being replaced by new part.

I've not heard of any software updates for the headlights though...

Would be interesting if you can ask the dealer for more détails & perhaps the TSB number or worksheet

Had a headlight software upgrade on mine. They said that the adaptive headlights might get stuck in a lowered position during the selftest phase.

@andreii

Any reference numbers re: TPI?

what model and age is your vehicle?

halongen, xenon or led as before?

thanks

sorry, no reference numbers.

My car is a 2016 octavia vrs tdi 4x4

Adaptive xenon lights.

I didn't have any problems with the car but, since it was already booked for a rearcamera retrofit, they said it's recomended they do the update.

Haven't noticed anything different after the update.

I asked service manager and he said it was something to do with lights not returning to correct position. only affects some cars??
