P334a powertrain fault

Featured Replies

Hi all, just had this fault come up on my rapid

To give some context

Hasn't been driven in about 4-5 days,

Typically driven very regularly on 40 mile trips

Is nearly 5 years old

Checked battery sitting at 12.2 cold, 13.26 when on - seems to be a bit low so figuring it might be this?

Anything else I should look into it consider?

Thanks

Can't help but intrigued, what happened next?

Did the fault go away, did the car start, run ok?

My battery always seems to show low (stop/start) but it's never showed up any  faults and all's well, I've got the Toledo though.

Hopefully its only a duff electrical indication because

P334A is the Charge Pressure Actuator - this is maybe the most regular problem with the 1.2 TSI, more so than the early camchain issues.

Does it go into limp mode?

My CPA was replaced, but didn't solve fault which re-occured as limp mode again the next day - Turbo replacement fixed it.

There are threads all over briskoda about this. The engine has been in almost every model after all.

I took it to my local garage who plugged it into a computer.

Only fault was an electrical one which was non descript.

Battery was fine and passed tests

Hopefully a one off!
