Skoda Superb 7 speed DSG or MT?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a Skoda Superb 1.8 litre Petrol. Based on whatever I have read, bit concerned about buying an AT with 7 Speed DSG. Will a MT version be a better, or at least, safer option? Any experiences / thoughts, most welcome. Cheers.

Welcome.

What age and mileage of car are you looking at?

The DQ200 DSG might have been one that was part of the World Wide Recall or Service Campaign in Europe, so you would want a Warranty covering the DSG.

Buying a Manual will require just the same research on use and servicing and the mileage covered matters as well,

so up to you what you want or need in the way of a gearbox.

Have a look at the reliability and longevity of the 1.8 TSI engine.   Top of the Octavia section is a good place to start.

Maybe a trip round the dealerships?  Also read up the online reports like Honest John etc.
