Featured Replies

Hi All Wifes air con has stopped working if you push the switch it don't do owt and the heater is blowing hot air all the while. Turning the temp knob to cold makes no change to the temp  the blower motor is working on all speeds. I had to change the clutch pedal as that went to the floor. It was working fine before i done that so is there any thing i could of upset or moved i know there's a black box  stuck to the side of the heater i removed it to access the top bolt on the clutch pedal i didn't remove the plugs just moved it to one side i stuck it back as it was after i fitted the new pedal any ideas whats wrong with it. Thanks in Advance Ady

I think the 'Black Box' stuck to the side of the heater was the flap motor housing for the temperature control flap and you've refitted it incorrectly or broken it, you'll need to retrace your steps and figure out how to fix it.

Oh i did think it could be that as thats all i removed but i aint broke it well i don't think. It clips on kinda you put the two clips in the holes and slide it towards the front of the heater or towards the floor of the car and it then locks into place guess i could show it my fav tool in me box a hammer lol. Fix one thing break another i seem to be good at that lol

Heater flap motor is on the other (left) side. I think the unit you moved was the Central Convenience Module, that controls door locks mostly.  The (geared) mechanism that controls the vent selection is near the area you were working, but I can't see why that would affect temperatures.

Could do with scanning the HVAC module with VCDS really.

Yeah i don't get it either it just stays on max hot air. After 10 mins your opening the window to get cold air in the car g's they have good heaters in um. Iv'e checked all the fuses and cant find a blown one. All i know is the A/C switch wont turn on neither will the REC switch the air direction knob is working as it should and the fan speed is working fine from No 1 to No 4. The central locking is working so i ain't broke that black box.I guess that's my next move either buy a code reader or take it to my local garage and see if there's any codes showing.

Well after doing this to the wife's car  i found the flap motor had no power going to it neither did the heater control it turned out that the 5amp fuse had been removed from the fuse box which was weird as she took it for a test drive and checked every thing was working the A/C was working fine the heater temp was working etc she then went back the next day to pay for the car and bought it home when all the gremlins started lol. Maybe the chap she bought it of thought he'd get the job of repairing it and charge my wife loads for sorting it as he buys and sells car's and fixes them who knows but at least i fixed it in the end.
