Software update control unit

Featured Replies

I had my MK3 Octavia 65 plate in last Friday for an oil change service and I've just had a call today saying that Skoda released a software update the day after ie Saturday. They wanted me to book back in for a sit and wait 1 hour appointment. I asked what the update did and she didn't know but said they were routine.

The update was to the control unit not the infotainment system.

Any ideas what this might be for?

I don't know what it's for either, but I had a voicemail left by my dealer today saying there was a software update available for my car (2016 vrs tsi).

He stressed it wasn't safety related. I'm loathed to get these 'updates' as everything's working fine, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

What a shame Skoda can not get their updates / service campaigns or as they like to call them now, 'Recall Actions' on here quicker.

Unless both yours actually do show here.

Just had my update carried out.

Apparently the update is to the energy management module (update name 90k1).

It took 45 minutes.

Didn't notice any difference on the drive home.
