Yeti Vs 3008

Featured Replies

Well, Peugeot 3008 taking the top spot in AutoExpress Driver Power survey! This spot was previously a Yeti position for several years and then the Superb. Seem to be a lot fewer Škodas in the top ten this year. I believe in "succession planning" for my car and like to be ready in case a quick decision is forced upon me by outside circumstances.

My main likes about Yeti are reliability, comfort, economic both in MPG and servicing, plenty of room for four adults and the versitility of the rear seats.

How do members think the new Peugeot 3008 measures up 1. To the Yeti and 2. To the Karoq?

Can I overcome my inbuilt prejudice towards French cars - comfortable but unreliable?

I'm not going to lie. I like the 3008 GT line a lot. I also enjoy the Tiguan R-line.   They both look the part!

Dare I say it.......ok. I prefer the 3008 to the Karoq. There. It's done. BUT the 3008 is no replacement for my Yeti. Even if I could afford it. So my Yeti stays where it belongs.....with me.

A friend has one and rates it highly. As a towcar he is also impressed. I'm a bit of a snob unfortunately when it comes to aesthetics and I could not like with that level of bling. To many shiny bits with nips and tucks designed to catch attention and not really perform a function.

The French do many things well, pastries and croissants spring to mind, wine and cognac, saucisson sec, breads and cheeses etc. I'll stick with them for the moment.

We were passed by quite a few on French motorways recently (plus its big sister). So a popular and speedy cruiser, no doubt.

Agree about overdoing the shiny bits, nips & tucks but in true french style, the rear is quite attractive.

If I was spending money on a well specced replacement for my Yeti, I'd choose a Kodiak first (and second!)

Not my cup of tea but obviously yours - and many others too.  The 3008 must be good to take top spot in the Auto Express Driver Power survey.

But I share your prejudice towards French cars.  My Schitroen Berlingo was the least reliable car I have owned in almost fifty years of driving.

While French cars might have come a long way since the "spit & Kleenex" days (and main dealer service must surely have improved since then), hell will freeze over before I buy another.

Well, Im not a lover of French stuff myself. (apart from some Lirac)

I have a French van, thats enough. If as a mechanic you can see what I see, you would not be looking at a French Peugeot.

And, before you ask, I went French van as it was the best price/deal I could get at the time. But not again.

I'd rather buy a Transit Connect.

Anyway, my Yeti is only just a year old, so I'm not looking to replace it just Yeti.

Same here their customer service worse than bad, poor reliability when you get your car serviced you have to make sure they service the car not just put the Service light off and charge you for the pleasure  PSA never again, poor old Vauxhall down hill from now on .

The auto, and HVAC are Japanese sourced (Toyota) .   The instrument panels German Continental.  The 1.6 engine is part German.

The ‘unreliable’ tag is questionable compared to Audi.

French, usual boring 'one size fits all' shape, Peugeot...... Nah!

Auto Express reviews are good up to a point, but do have some odd criteria.  Mostly testers driving them at excessive speed into corners, and then saying the roadholding isn't brilliant. Most people don't drive like that. Not sensible drivers anyway.

I wouldn't waste tyre tread going to the showroom.  Just another hideous jelly mould.
