.... well half of it anyway :)

Superbright LED sidelight bulbs.. from www.speeding.co.uk

heres the pics..

NOTE: the indicators are DIADEM items. and they are switched off, now you can see what i mean by nice reflections :D

The one on the left is the new sidelight.

each "bulb" has 4 LEDs in it, but one of them on had 2 LEDs working, so ill have to send them back.

they look better in the metal than in the pics, and dont affect the colour or beam of the dipped lights.

YEAH YEAH....

/me starts thinking about mod #4.......

Wow they are very bright sidelights! They look similar too Xenons in colour

Personally dont like the diadems as you still get the orange fried egg reflection in the lens.

I agree with that. The completely silver Phillips ones you now get do look better.

I like the bluish reflection from the diadems.. the silvervision look too plain for me

Silverfusions are best!

I've replaced my front indicators with the only thing that I removed from my MINI Cooper S before I got rid of it, and perhaps the only things that worked too! ;) BMW MINI call these "MINI Clear-Look Front Indicator bulbs". They look great IMO, and get rid of the fried-egg effect too. They give the front indicator bowls a blue tinge to them, but they flash bright orange. They cost

If the sidelights r messing up your nice blue xenons, then jus remove them like i did! Solves all problems!

I've got the BlueVision sidelights in mine, go nicely with the xenons :D

No it's not that they are messing them up, it's just in the Fabia vRS, all the lights in the headlamp area, bar the indicator, have to be changed by the main dealer. It's an enclosed unit you see.

Here's my indicator again, I corrected the (above) link too:

They are on the Octy as well. 4 bolts, 6 screws and you can change them :D

Just mind it doesn't turn into a shocking experience ;)

Must say it took kin ages to do as I had to remove the whole light unit to be able to get to the back (the ballast pack on the back takes up all the space). Worth doing though, as when you have the dipped on, they are in a different cluster to the sidelight which, as Graeme says, looks naff and ivory compared to the xenons.

Sounds a little hair-raising to me! Not certain I'd want to be accused of mucking the warranty up though.

Thanks nevertheless :)

The reason it's a dealer job is due to the VERY HIGH voltages used by the gas discharge system - you'll be fine as long as your carefull and take your time. The official route is to discon battery 1st - although most tech's don't bother.

I didn't bother either, mainly because I have the mechanical / electrical aptitude of a retarded hamster :D

Anyone wants the instructions for the Octy Xenons, look here. Bit basic, but hey ho...

Anyone offended by the blatant copyright infringement? Oh and Skoda UK, if you are reading this, your bulb type is wrong in your manual, they are H1 not H3 :P HTH

But I still ain't got round to changing them!
