Average car sales in a dealership?

Featured Replies

Just wondering... as I've been asked for some info from a family member :)

How many cars does your average salesperson in a dealership sell per month? I.e selling brand new and nearly new motas. :)

Anyone work in a dealership - I think Mr Skodaw works in an Audi garage. Anyone else know what kind of targets or sales figures one typical salesperson would make in a month. 5? 10? more?

How many salesmen/women do they have? I need to work out an average per salesperson really. Would that be around 1 a day per salesman then?

Having spent the last 5yrs selling in a dealership (Toyota) we were turning over between 200-300 cars each a year, that was myself and 3 others sales people:)

It all depends on what Manufacturer we are talking about and things like location are an important factor too.

I'd say the run of the mill Manufacturers - Toyota, Honda, VW, Audi, BMW, Renault, Peugeot would be around the above figure with the likes of Ford, Vauxhall chucking a few more out the door!

When I bought my first Skoda(1996) the dealer was selling 350 new and 250 used cars a year. If I remember correctly, the website listed 6 in the saless team.

What about Volvo?

We do between 275-300 new cars a year with around the same being used, with quite an even mix for private / company buyers.

We have 6 Salespeople, 1 trainee and 1 business sales

Not sure about Volvo - would expect there numbers to be slightly less.
