To put it in a more prospective term, If I have 18" rims then I would choose the Michelin PS4 tyres, don't seem much of a big price gap between the Michelin & Eagle F1's tyres to warrant saving £20.00-£40.00 plus using codes 4mich40 or flash10 still create a saving to be had B)

Now on the other hand, 19" tyres are in a completely different price range from 18" & from 19" tyre to 19" tyre, so definitely here the savings has to be a major factor because of the prices.

Indeed,  When I price up PS4's for my Sportline which runs on 19", it get's a bit silly.  Though I've not long fitted Vredestein Quatrac 5's (all season) which I'm pleased with so far.  I just hope they are just as good in the Summer months and also trying to handle 276bhp and not 148.

I'm still not discounting PS4's but I'm also quite keen on trying the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti.

I am well pleased with the PS4’s, they are definitely more comfortable than the Falkens en more grippy too. Recently changed back to OEM top mounts, which give a much more comfy ride on the AP coil overs than the LCR top mounts!

How are we getting on @BATVANVRS Still torn between PS4 and AS3. Think it was easier to name my firstborn... :D

Well been 2-3 weeks now since fitting the PS4 tyres & definitely a wiser choice to choose these tyres, I'm very pleased with them & they seem to be wearing in very nicely (checked them yesterday) They definitely give me confidence on the road, grip, traction & they feel very planted B)  especially when cornering, I've not had any tyre squeal but then again i don't really do traffic light GP :giggle: but I have tried the PS4 of the mark in paddle shift mode which definitely grip very well.

I'm actually going on a motorway drive soon (200 mile) round trip so will see how these perform on higher legal speeds  but around town on (A) roads the odd country lanes, they have been awesome.

Thanks for the update. I spend most of my time on the motorway, so will be keen to see your thoughts from the long drive. Sounds very promising though so far :)

I love my PS4’s and still haven’t had mine chnaged as someone hasn’t replaced my locking wheel but key with one that is made from cheese and it’s broken. Skoda say they can’t get me a new one so I’m waiting for a slot to come up at the local tyre bay to smash them off. I find the PS4 excellent at higher speeds myself :)

Most dealers have master sets to remove these, even my local tyre place has them for most makes...sounds strange that Skoda can't get you a new one? :wondering:

If you have the old key, I think there's usually a serial number stamped into it?

That’s what I said!! Apparently they say that’s not so. I am going to try the next closest Skoda dealer now, see if I get a different response.

I watched a YouTube video the other day of someone who lost the locking nut key & basically just hammered on over the locking nut a 17 or 19 adaptor & then managed to undo the locking nut of each wheel.

Heres the video, hopefully might be useful & then you can buy a new set of locking nuts B)

Or even better if you know the key no etc send a PM to Mike Briskoda parts section & maybe get the locking key directly from him.

Thanks, turns out the next closest Skoda dealer has a set of master keys and can take them off tomorrow for me without a charge. Will sort out 4 replacements and then roll on new tyres :)

Just done 100 miles this morning on the motorway & so far I’m very pleased to say that the Michelins PS4 have performed extremely well, great a fast speeds & to be honest definitely not noisy at all, now that does depend on the road surface you’re driving on & some parts of the motorway I was driving on had that lame road surface so obviously there is noise but nothing no different to warrant the tyres being noisey or loud.

I will update on the way back later on today when I do the 100 mile return journey & hopefully the road surface on the return trip will be the nice, quiet road surface tarmac etc...

100 mile return trip complete B) I’m knackered  but definitely glad I choose the Michelin PS4, the M2 motorway coming back from Kent seems to have more of a stretch of the better tarmac road surface, at least that drive gave them a good wear in & other than what I’ve mentioned before about them, I really can’t echo anymore information than what I’ve said previously B)

Hey all. Just wanted to pop by and say hello. I'm due to change my tyres rather soon on my 2012 CR VRS. I will follow this and read up on your feedback(s).

A good friend of mine on here has changed their tyres to the PS4's and he very highly rates them.

I currently run AS2's and was considering the 3's but doubtful now due to very mixed reviews and said friend ending up changing them due to poor performance and wheel spin!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for PS4 deals with Black Circles etc.

My main problem now is the lack of steering feel and wheel spinning(even in 3rd).

My AS2's have been on since Feb 2015 and have covered approx 22K. Personally, I think that's mint.

That's with spirited driving as well btw but not continual drag racing or ****head driving

So yeah, I'm in the market for new tyres prior to my MOT come Dec.

Come on peeps, convince me my baby deserves to be treated to some PS4's

Can’t fault black circles.com

ive had many sets of Michelin’s from them.

Got a set of Dunlop’s on at the moment. I’m waiting for them to wear out then going into Michelin.

All I can say on the matter is that I'm so glad I have PS4's fitted, definitely my best tyre choice to date, I don't do traffic lights grand prix but the odd time I have, they have always gripped perfectly, I won't convince you to buy them because they can be expensive but what I will say is! You won't regret buying the PS4's that's for sure.

unfortunately the price difference on the 19s is huge, so had to go for the next best option.

Yeah just paid £180 per tyre for Michelin PS4 S in 235/35R19 size. Seem slightly noisier than the 225/35R19 P Zeroes they replaced but my new wheels are also much wider at 8.5J compared to the standard 7.5J so that probably generates a bit more noise. Initial impressions are steering feel is better and although still bedding in new tyres feels like there will be huge grip. Economy only slightly worse at 43.0MPG on first commute.

Agree with the planted feel of the PS4 and indeed an American magazine road tested a Kia Stinger GTS (CIRCA 370BHP) and found the Michelin's helped it deliver a 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds beating the standard tyre's time of 4.9 seconds so they do seem to help with launches if that's important.:o

I've still got my eye on getting a set of these tyres, however if I were to get a set of 19" alloys, I'd have to get the PS4 S tyres instead. @shyVRS245 Good to see you're happy with them.

@BATVANVRS you've had your PS4 a little white now. With the recent stereotypical British summertime, how have you been finding the grip in the wet? That's the main reason I'm looking to swap at least my tyres as wet grip with the standard Potenzas (which I feel we'd all all agree is terrible). My dad gave my car a run round the block the other week and he commented on the 'crapnessness' of the tyres. He knows my car has a good bit of power, but he wasn't impressed by the eagerness for wheelspin, even in 2nd. Plus (and I agree) he thinks the traction control and e diff, as a result of the lack of tyre grip, are cutting in that bit too soon, even in VRS mode.

I've high hopes for swapping these tyres, honestly I do.

In the list of upgrades, I think it'll be tyres, then alloys, then suspension and then brakes.

Having ran a heavily modified BMW E36 in the mid 1990's which had front strut brace, hollow tube uprated front/rear anti roll bars with poly bushes, Schnitzer lowered springs and Koni sport dampers, 8J x 17 alloys and 235/40 front and 245/40 rear tyres, my VRS245 now feels as planted as that track car without any suspension mods. CRAZY REALLY!:notme:

I find the PS4's in the wet fine, I don't really tend to push the limits to be honest in the wet but at the same time I don't drive like a granny :giggle: in fairness the wet grip is very decent as I was driving in the rain this morning & thought lets give it a little & the tyres actually gripped fine, no wheel spin or skidding & they do feel connected to the road B) suppose if you planted your foot like a madman then I suppose you will get wheel spin or wheel hop but that would be with any tyre anyway regardless of make/brand, its knowing the right pressure to plant your foot!

My honest opinion about the PS4's, is they are definitely my best tyre I've ever had on any car, I would even say that If I had 19's I would still buy them regardless of price.

That's good to hear. I appreciate Skoda can sometimes be considered the budget vag brand, but I feel not paying a great interest in what tyres you choose to put on your car on the production line, is a mistake to make.

Had PS4's on my Mk7 Golf GTi - loved them!
