2017 SE Drive 2.0L 110 BHP Manual

Featured Replies

A mate of mine is buying a 2.0 litre 110HP SE Drive diesel manual. He doesn't know a lot about cars and knowing I have had 2 Yeti's asked for some advice. I can advise him about most of his queries but having a petrol Yeti can't help much about the 110 BHP diesel. It was first registered August 2017 and engine is 2.0 TDI 110PS SCR EU6 - manual version. Questions he has:

1. Is it affected by VAG group emissions recall?

2. Does it use ADBlue or is that just for the 140 BHP version?

3 Likely MPG driven normally - i.e. no boy racer but just keeps up with normal traffic flow. Not used for commuting and driven mostly on fairly quiet rural roads.

4. Any other comments by owners of same spec Yeti's?

Thanks

1 & 2,  As it does have AdBlue (post May 2015) it is not affected by the emissions recall.

He doesn't know about Adblue, how can he check to confirm - and where is filler?

On the right hand side of the boot under a cover.

If it has an AdBlue tank it is below the boot floor covering, on the driver's side towards the rear bumper.

At that age there was no 140 bhp version, only the 110 or 150.

Just so I can say definitely, can you absolutely confirm that the 2017 2.0L 110 BHP SCR EU6 has Adblue?

Thanks

SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction - requires AdBlue.

Yes, not an issue to refill.

Should do about 55mpg av or better on longer trips

Hi Expat,

I have a 2017 2.0L 110 BHP SCR EU6  SE Drive, and it does have Adblue.

But as Llanigraham says check in the boot, that way you will be 100% sure.

And, I am getting high 50s MPG & just over 60 on longish journeys.

I too have filled the AdBlue at home.

Also my opinion of the car is great.

Thanks guys - I have told my friend to ignore the salesman who told him it did not have Adblue and then to open the boot and point out the Adblue filler to the salesman!

MPG looks excellent which will please my mate - short arms long pockets - he changes his cars as infrequently as possible and his current car (Citroen) has lasted 15 years and it wasn't new when he bought it! Now it has finally died and he liked my Yeti but living in the hilly west country prefers the driving characteristics of a diesel.

I rang my dealer with a query about the Adblue and was told my car didn't have it even though I had already checked in the boot!

Only criticism with mine is that I wished it had the 6 speed gear box to close up the ratios.

I bought a diesel as my last one, even though my annual mileage doesn't justify it as I also like the driving characteristics. But diesels have become less diesel like in recent years and have to be revved more than in the past and don't like low revs/high gears. I actually find that modern petrol engines are more flexible than diesels now.

I have loved diesel Yeti ownership over the last three years though and the fuel consumption is very good but like with many folks it will be a petrol car next time.

If he has the spare wheel then he'll have to lift out the expanded polystyrene 'tool' box to access the Adblue filler.

(I actually find that box rather inconvenient - the mouldings for the tow ball and other stuff that I don't have take up space I'd rather use for things I do want to carry under the raised boot floor.  I wonder if I can source one of the ones as used in the pre-Adblue cars from somewhere?  As far as I can tell they should be a straight swap.)

I used to get 30-35 towing a caravan, more solo but I do have a heavy right foot and it (Yeti) does so like to fly.

It handles well at speed and soaks up bumpy roads, it has always made me smile. It is a 65 model and has Adblue

Well, I thought that the diesel SE Drive would have 6 gears. Considering my 1.2 petrol has 7 gears (DSG) and petrol has a wider rev range than diesel can't think why Skoda fitted a 5 speed box? Anyone know why, when they have a 6 speed box available?

The 2.0 110ps diesel and indeed the 105ps 1.6lt Greenline always had a 5 speed box. The only exception was the 110 4x4 which had a 6 speed.

Never had an issue with either version and 5 speed. Just needed less gearchanging

I bought my 2014 110bhp diesel new. I was surprised it only had a 5 speed box after having a 6 speed on a 2004 Touran. I still occasionally hunt for that extra gear, but do not feel I have lost out in terms of economy. A true brim to brim can get 60mpg and a Maxidot indicated 52mpg over 100 hours with some towing make me happy.

When I changed my 2011 Yeti (with tow-bar) for my Euro 6 Adblue Yeti i asked for my spare wheel and associated mouldings to be swapped over. No problem - just need to lift out the moulding to access the Adblue filler. I don't know if a pre-Adblue Yeti without tow-bar would be a different moulding though.

No they are exactly the same moulding.
