Standard Nav On VRS

Featured Replies

Thank you everyone, I think I will do some test runs to see what the quirks are. I used to rely on a TomTom, but as I have an integrated one now it would be good not to hook it up. I’ll give android auto a go too - lots of playing to do!

The 245's Amundsen sat nav is good!

I refuse to use Android Auto and Google Maps due to the terrible resolution. The Skoda interface is crisp and glossy. Android Auto looks really flat and dated.

As noted, the FL uses the Amundsen with an 8 inch screen and no soft keys. If you have a pre FL, post MY16 (or a Columbus from any Mk3) you can just plug in the 8 inch FL screen and it will work. I have an Amundsen running a pre FL Columbus screen in my car.

FL 8" screen works even with MIB1 Columbus?

I can’t see why not, the Columbus screen never changed and the MIB1 Columbus ran an 8 inch screen with 480x800 resolution. The only was to confirm that is to plug an FL Amundsen display into a MIB1 Columbus and share the result. I’m not a gambler, but I’m certain it would work, the buttons are the same (exept the APP button, but that doesn’t work on the pre FL MIB2) so my confidence is high on it working.

Yeah on paper it should be fine. You don't happen to know the part number for the FL Amundsen screen do you? Might keep my eyes peeled for one :)
