Hi I'm new here but I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light for me!

 

I've just picked up my new (used) MKIII Octavia and I already love it! But one thing that is bugging me is the rocker switch on the wiper stalk that controller is causing the maxi for screen to randomly flick through the modes. It's like the rocker button is stuck or not working, has anyone had this before or have any suggestions?

Possibly a build up of swarf from the contacts, so you could try a squirt of a contact cleaner like Servisol 10 (other products are available), but also quite likely an internal component failure.  Taking it apart will probably be more trouble than it's worth, so if it were me, I'd bite the bullet and get a new one.

I was assuming that might be the case. I think I'll give the contact cleaner a try hadn't thought of that... I've got to get the cambelt done next week so I'll probably get it sorted then.
