Devil’s Elbow

Featured Replies

The Glen Shee road is one of my favourites.

On 2 or 4 wheels.

Long ago I discovered the original Devil’s Elbow near the Glen Shee ski resort and have taken several pictures of my bikes and cars on the corner.

Yesterday was the turn of my current Skoiaq.

That looks a stunning road, never been on that road.

Is this past the ski centre if coming from south? I go up that way in the winter all the time however that road looks like it would eat my splitter for breakfast.

The exact location is “about” 1 mile south of the Glen Shee ski centre.  It’s the old road. Hidden low down on the right as you go north on the A93.

You’ll not see it unless you know where to look. The access is a section of lowered kerb that then drops into a “parking area”.

It’s not a pukka lay-by or anything.  Then you simply continue to drive north to the hairpin bend in the picture.  Normal cars and bikes dare not try to exit onto the A93 at the top of the hairpin road. Return the way you entered.

And yes, any low splitter would be at risk on the kerbs.

In the past I’ve turned in on 2 wheels and 4 with the remnants of snow around and found the old road blocked so could not reach the hairpin.
